CC/ASLA - The California Council of ASLA
The California Council of the American Society of Landscape Architects is an organization comprised of two members from each of the four California Chapters of ASLA: the San Diego, Southern California, Sierra, and Northern California Chapters. The two members from each Chapter are the Immediate Past Chapter President and the Chapter’s Delegate to the CC/ASLA Board of Directors.
The purpose of the Council is to advance the profession of Landscape Architecture at the State level in California as an instrument of services in public welfare and to serve as the coordinating Council in the State for the various Chapters of the American Society of Landscape Architects regarding state licensure issues, legislative bills and sunset review of LATC.
In order to meet the CC/ASLA mandate regarding state issues, the Board of Directors of CC/ASLA has hired Terri Thomas of Thomas Advocacy, Inc., as its legislative advocate in Sacramento. The CC/ASLA Board has also hired Tracy Morgan Hollingworth, CAE as its Executive Manager. The Board holds monthly conference calls regarding its business.

ASLA National
Founded in 1899, the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) is the national professional association for landscape architects, representing 17,000 members in 48 professional chapters and 68 student chapters. The Society's mission is to lead, to educate, and to participate in the careful stewardship, wise planning, and artful design of our cultural and natural environments. Members of the Society use the “ASLA” suffix after their names to denote membership and their commitment to the highest ethical standards of the profession.
ASLA works to increase the public’s awareness of and appreciation for the profession of landscape architecture. ASLA is an active advocate for the profession at the local, state and national levels on public policy issues including licensure, livable communities, sustainable design, surface transportation, the environment, historic preservation, small business issues, and more.
ASLA has 48 state and regional chapters which champion advocacy, education and fellowship at the local level. The Northern California Chapter of ASLA is the local chapter of ASLA along the northern coast of California from the Monterey/San Luis Obispo County Line to the Oregon border.
