• The Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Board (CLARB)
CLARB is a non-profit organization that, in collaboration with its members, establishes standards for education, experience, and examination required for the professional licensure of landscape architects.  CLARB administers and scores the Landscape Architect Registration Examination (L.A.R.E.).


• California Landscape Architects Technical Committee (LATC)
The LATC establishes standards for licensure and enforces the laws and regulations that govern the practice of landscape architecture in California

• Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System (LA CES)
• Thirty states (not including California) require licensed landscape architects to complete continuing education to maintain a license.   If you are licensed in another state that requires continuing education, please refer to the Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System (LA CES) website for more details.

Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI)
The Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) administers LEED professional credentials and exams.

Arborist certification
The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA)
The International Society of Arboriculture is a worldwide professional organization dedicated to the professional practice of arboriculture and administers the ISA Arborist certification.
The California Arborists Association (CAA)
The California Arborists Association, Inc. (CAA) is a non-profit organization of professional arborists. Its purpose is to promote responsible and progressive arboriculture practices, continuing education and training, and communication between practitioners, educators, researchers, and other green industry professionals.

Irrigation certification
The Irrigation Association
The Irrigation Association, founded in 1949, includes over 2,000 corporate and individual members and is dedicated to promoting efficient irrigation.  The program includes six different credential options.

Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) Certification
A Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) is certified to inspect playgrounds for safety hazards and to ensure compliance with national standards.  The (CPSI) program is offered by the National Certification Board in coordination with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and the National Playground Safety Institute.

AB1144 Harman is the California Playground Safety Regulations Revision Bill in effect as of January 1, 2008. The revision requires all playgrounds open to the public be audited by a CPSI prior to initial use.
