Peter Walker Legacy Lecture

Peter Walker Legacy Lecture

On March 31, the Chapter kicked off NLAM in a spectacular way with a one of a kind, special event, an evening of conversation with Peter Walker and Charles Birnbaum. This sold-out presentation was made possible by a collaboration between The Cultural Landscape Foundation, the Department of Landscape Architecture & Environmental Planning at University of California at Berkeley, and ASLA/NCC whose common goal is education and outreach about our noble profession.

The evening covered Pete’s decades-long career, starting with a overview of Pete’s life from his childhood influences to his professional development on both coasts, to the inspiration he seeks from artists, to the 9/11 Memorial in New York.

The event was filmed as part of the Foundation’s oral history series to record the lasting legacy of our industry’s most esteemed professionals, such as Pete Walker, for future generations. Look for video clips on our website in the near future. We’d really like to thank our special event sponsors, Park West Landscape Construction, Valley Crest Landscape Development, and StopWaste.Org.
